WebCamp Shriver, as it is known today, became an annual event through the 1960s. This groundbreaking camp served as the impetus for the Special Olympics movement, which has since grown to reach more than 2 million athletes worldwide. WebJuly 20 is Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day.
